Everyone seemed ready and excited about the sleepover camp.
The relay for today was the wheelbarrow. A counselor carried a camper’s legs.
As an activity, everyone including counselors got a daruma to paint. Every daruma were painted with many different colors (These darumas are made in Fukushima, called Shirakawa Daruma. I visited the manufacture last summer. O-en Network purchases daruma for our camp directly from the manufacture in Fukushima so that we can help Fukushima to rebuild their city after the tragedy last March).
For lunch, everyone made a sushi roll using cucumber, takuan (Japanese pickles), and crab sticks.
Electives

Japanese chess

Finally we had time to enjoy Suika wari (crushing a watermelon with eyes covered with a bandanna).
After those friends who do not stay for the sleepover camp left, everyone cleaned up the campsite and got ready to go hiking.
taking rest at midpoint.
We walked almost for 2 hours (1 hour and 45 minutes including rest at the midpoint) all the way to the sleepover site through the hiking trail in the woods.
Once we got to the sleepover site, we had a cold drink of Calpico, and enjoyed chatting with friends and counselors or took a shower in the cabin until dinner was ready.
Finally the dinner was ready!
After dinner, everyone went to the campfire ring. We sang a few songs and then we called God of Fire. He lid the campfire for us and went back to the woods. And then we called God of Forest. The Forest God gave us a small gift from the woods. Campers thought the gift might be an acorn, or a chestnut, or a potato.
We went back to the cabin and went to bed. Everyone seemed very tired and fell asleep right away.
